A Shrump Is Born

Sea life, insects and big eyes came together in this newest polymer clay figure.
I made this one as a gift to fzito for his birthday. It had to be a unique piece of art,
something that would only ever be sculpted once.
The pointy claw limbs and creepy worm body were both borrowed from the flying curdle
worm
I made last year. Other than that it just seemed to make itself up, looking
only slightly like the sculpture I had sketched out in the start.

After this shrump got its last coat of glaze, the only thing left to do was the icing for the ghostbusters stay puft marshmallow man cake

created with a limp and a set of really strong arms... I think I better stick to polymer clay

Beat Black is a handmade jewelry (and other stuff) business created by myself, Sarah Norton, and run out of my apartment in downtown Toronto.

I've worked with a variety of different mediums over the years but during these last few its been all about polymer clay. I mostly try to use this blog to showcase the craft in a 'behind the scenes' kind of way. I also like to show off other artists original work that inspires as well as listing any giveaways and discounts.
