It's been too many years since I made a sad cupcake but I can still remember where the first one was shipped to. When I feel like designs become outdated I like to take them down from my shop until I can re-make a new fresher one. It took 4 years but I've finally made a new frowny dessert to replace the old ones
I've got a looong ways to go to recreate all the old lollipops, squids, candy, leopard print and worms but they're all on the list of to-dos for this year. Last time I posted pictures of the old vs new I got all sorts of really cool feedback from you guys... Yes, it's completely okay to suck and you do get better with practice!! Here's some proof of that with ones that were reinvented in 2011
Right now I'm working on finishing some more worms, I'll have pictures of a custom sugar skull to post about next, I'm working on brand new polymer clay pieces to introduce later this month and I'll have news about a magazine... It's been a busy April so far :)

Beat Black is a handmade jewelry (and other stuff) business created by myself, Sarah Norton, and run out of my apartment in downtown Toronto.
I've worked with a variety of different mediums over the years but during these last few its been all about polymer clay. I mostly try to use this blog to showcase the craft in a 'behind the scenes' kind of way. I also like to show off other artists original work that inspires as well as listing any giveaways and discounts.
