It's giveaway time! This one was put together by the "likers" of Beat Black's facebook fan page. First the call was put out to find which item you'd like to win most:

Number 1 (I Heart Brains Zombie Best Friends Necklace Set) got the most votes with Number 3 (Femme Fatale Grenade Necklace) coming in a close second.

Then 22 of you voted to decide how the winner would be determined while I realized just how much the facebook poll feature blows:

Thank you to all you voters who took the time to help shape this giveaway <3

Why a survey about t-shirts?
This survey was made so that I could learn a few things about you and your t-shirt preferences. Over a year ago I bought what I needed to make my own handmade tees. Even with the support I've been getting it was a little overwhelming to start. I hoping to find out what you think makes a good screen printed t-shirt... or even what you think makes a bad one so I can apply it and make something stellar to sell at an affordable price

All About Tees Survey
the giveaway and survey are now closed. The winner will be announced next week along with a coupon code for 15% off

All About Tee's

The winner will be contacted by email and posted on the facebook fan page. If no response is given within 2 weeks the prize will be given to the next winner.

Newest Issue of Gore Noir Magazine

This past weekend I opened my first envelope from Gore Noir Magazine. Inside was their 5th issue, a zombie themed one featuring all sorts of undead goodies. Some months ago I was lucky enough to be interviewed by Taylor Haggard for this issue and she even put together a "Kitschy Kannibals" photoshoot with some of Beat Black's polymer clay jewelry.

This is one meaty magazine that I couldn't wait to dive into. Being a fan of the Walking Dead graphic novel and now TV show I couldn't wait to see what Norman Reedus had to say in his interview . The Zombie Boy spread is gorgeous and Greg Nicotero who has done special effects for Walking Dead and movies like Inglourious Basterds, Evil Dead II, the Kill Bills (and many many more) was something I was looking forward to most of all.
This zombie issue #5 is available to own here with the next issue making its appearance in stores as well as online. I've just published the media section on this site and added this one to the top!

    Sarah Norton
Beat Black is a handmade jewelry (and other stuff) business created by myself, Sarah Norton, and run out of my apartment in downtown Toronto.

I've worked with a variety of different mediums over the years but during these last few its been all about polymer clay. I mostly try to use this blog to showcase the craft in a 'behind the scenes' kind of way. I also like to show off other artists original work that inspires as well as listing any giveaways and discounts.
